Frequently Asked Questions

How long does a divorce take?
The amount of time it takes to get a divorce in Missouri depends upon the issues of the case. If it is a non-contested matter and both parties cooperate with each other, your divorce can be resolved in 90 to 120 days after it is filed. I will do everything possible to have your case resolved as soon as reasonably possible.

How much does it cost to get a divorce?
The price of divorce depends on the issues that are involved in the case. A divorce that does not involve children, property or debt is substantially less expensive than a divorce that does involve the above issues.

How much are the filing fees?
The filing fee for a divorce in St. Louis County is $225.00.
The filing fee for a divorce in St. Louis City is $199.00
The filing fee for a divorce in St. Charles County is $122.00

When is my divorce final?
Your divorce is final once the decree is signed by the judge. I suggest that you should not remarry for forty-five (45) days after your decree is signed due to possible appeals.
